Transcend Chaos: How to Find Order Through Boundaries

Ever feel like your brain’s got 47 tabs open and someone keeps hitting shuffle?

Yeah, me too.

And right now, that feeling might be cranked up a notch because we’re heading into a Sun transit of Gate 3, the Gate of Order. That means that whether or not you have this gate defined (coloured in) on your chart, this energy will activate this gate and give you an experience of relevant traits. This is so helpful to know for your own awareness, plus content creation, team dynamics or even deconstructing the mood of the household!

It’s all about bringing form to the formless, and turning overwhelm into something structured, innovative and lasting. Sounds dreamy, right?

Well, kind of.

Because here’s the thing: Chaos doesn’t go quietly. Especially not when you start changing the rules: setting boundaries, creating space, meeting your own needs. If you’re just starting to get this vibe, you’re right on time because the Sun Transit kicks off tomorrow (16 April, Australian time).

Gate 3 lives in the Sacral centre, which is all about life force energy, creativity, and doing what lights you up. When this gate is activated, it can feel like the urge to take action or at least clear the kitchen bench without spiralling.

But here’s the kicker: that initial chaos? Totally part of the process. Gate 3 brings the challenge of starting fresh, but to do that, it needs a little something we often resist… structure.

Not the rigid, joy-killing kind. I’m talking about the supportive kind. Boundaries that help you go from flailing to focused.

Boundaries often get a bad rap, like they’re walls or restrictions. But they’re actually your scaffolding. They create order, calm, and consistency, which is exactly what Gate 3 is all about. When you do this, you open up new ways of innovating and doing things differently.

Without boundaries, your energy leaks everywhere. You say yes when you mean no. You’re five steps ahead in your mind and already behind in your body. You’re trying to build a business or run your life on top of chaos, and wondering why it feels so hard.

And yep, I’ve been feeling the chaos too.

I recently injured myself and had to pause my usual Pilates sessions, which are a big part of how I anchor my week (and my mood). I even had to outsource the dog walking for a few days.

Now, that might sound minor, but when you’re used to a certain rhythm, these little shifts can quickly snowball. First, the movement goes. Then my eating habits slide towards the less nourishing end of the scale (suddenly chips seem like a great option when I’d normally probably reach for seeded crackers and hummous). Next minute, I’m feeling flat, lacking energy and, well, a bit meh.

That’s the thing about chaos- it doesn’t always look like a full-blown crisis. Sometimes, it’s just a slow drift away from what supports you.

And in those moments, I come back to what I know: Structure creates stability. Boundaries bring me home.

Even something as simple as committing to a nourishing breakfast or getting the kids to help more helps me reorder the chaos and reconnect with my energy.

With this transit, you might notice:

  • Feeling extra done with the mess (mentally, emotionally, physically)
  • An urge to burn everything down and start fresh – but remember that creating the right structure and systems takes time. Patience is key.
  • Resistance to systems, schedules, or… dare I say it… routines. Are you someone who thinks structure and systems are ‘boring’? Might be time to reframe that.
  • Overwhelm that’s really a lack of structure wearing a disguise

It’s ok. The invitation isn’t to overhaul your entire life overnight. It’s to get curious: Where could one small structure improvement shift things for the better?

Here are a few prompts to play with this week:

  • How can I introduce more structure in my work/business to reduce the feeling of chaos? It might be automating something you’d normally do manually eg ManyChat for your social media. Hiring a VA. Organising (or getting help to) clean up your inbox, Canva files or office.
  • Where am I holding chaos because I’ve been avoiding setting a boundary? Eg review your email signature – are your work hours/days/time off clear? Have you been clear with your clients about how and when to communicate and what to expect? It might be a good time to review this if not.
  • What’s one boundary that would feel like a relief right now? With Easter around the corner, maybe that looks like working out how you can bring structure to ‘me time’ or ‘self care’. What would make it a no-brainer?
  • What could ‘supportive structure’ look like for me? (ie not someone else’s version?) Eg creating rules for yourself about work vs play or home life if you work from home. Or outsourcing some of the things that don’t bring you joy.
  • How can I embrace more patience, if I feel like I need to rush so I have more clarity? Remember that patience is required to move from confusion or chaos to order. Trust the process.

Don’t be surprised if setting a boundary or creating a new system feels clunky or even downright hard at first. That’s normal. You’re not doing it wrong, you’re just moving out of old patterns and into something more aligned that will support future you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, seek guidance from someone you trust or even outsource the stuff you hate or find really challenging, if you can.

This energy isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating space for something new and innovative to land. Don’t rush it.

And that, my friend, takes guts, grace, and a bit of mess along the way. Be kind to yourself.
